HERBAL DOG REMEDIES

Thousands of years ago Greeks took notice of dogs natural actions in eating wild herbs to prevent illness and disease to and to promote healing

Herbs can be used to strengthen dogs immune system

Herbs can also be used to increase organ function

Many herbs support dogs overall body wellness and health

Notice a dogs behavior in eating grass to induce vomiting to expel some toxic in their bodies

Herbs are used to treat a variety of illnesses and diseases such as arthritis, eye ailments, distemper, worms, tumors, and vomiting among others

Garlic, for instance, contains more than 200 different chemicals and many of them are beneficial to dogs

Garlic is being used to treat high blood pressure, fleas (as a repellant), heartworms, and eliminating waste substances from the dogs cells

By Maral Heggemeier

The term human catch kennel cough is really asking the question can humans catch kennel cough. The answer to this question is a qualified yes. This is because it is not called kennel cough in humans. In humans kennel cough is called an upper respiratory infection. While it could be severe usually it is milder and can be cured quite easily.

Of course if your symptoms become severe you will go to the doctor for treatment. The same thing holds true for our pets. Once their symptoms become severe then you will want to take them to the vet so lets look at the symptoms first that will show up in our pets.

SYMPTOMS OF KENNEL COUGH ARE:

Dry harsh cough

If your dog or cat has developed coughing with green mucus then take it to your vet right away.

Kennel cough is spread among our pets (cats and dogs) by secretions coming from infected dogs and cats. These secretions become airborne and our pets breathe them in and become infected. These infections can come from bacteria or viruses.

Immune compromised people are the ones most likely to catch kennel cough. Because kennel cough is highly contagious we should take the same precautions we take when we have a family member with a cold. Good hygiene is, of course, the best prevention.

Just like in humans, though, our pets can be given herbal treatments to help out with the symptoms. Home remedies work for us humans and they also work for our pets. Next time your cat or dog get kennel cough practice safe hygiene around them. Wash hands regularly and avoid contact with any secretions coming from them. A good hand sanitizer should be used.

Karastan Rug

By Mudassir Malik

Karastan sounds like a country, preferably one that was created during the breakup of the Soviet Union. So obviously Karastan rugs would be rugs from that country, handmade with a secret art passed down from generation to generation. So imagine my surprise when I first learned that not only are these rugs from the United States, but they are machine-made!

Karastan rugs, as the famous story goes, were created by the legendary retailer Marshall Fields in 1928. They were really the first machine rugs which were said to reach the quality level that had previously been reserved for hand-made rugs and they were much less expensive.

Karastan Rugs are made from New Zealand wool, which is known is the purest, whitest wool in the world, and in fact Karastan Rugs is the largest consumer of New Zealand wool in the world. Wool is a non-allergenic fiber and does not promote the growth of bacteria or dust mites, or give off harmful emissions.

Karastan has been an innovator in the rug and carpet industry. In 1992, Karastan introduced of SisalWool. Sisal is a plant which produces a natural fiber that can be used in rug making. Karastan’s SisalWool was a woven carpet a blend of wool and sisal characteristics, blending sisal’s texture and look with the softness, durability, and stain resistance of wool. This creates a unique sisal rug.

Karastan’s TeaWash process was invented in 1997, and gives rugs an aged look. It is a multi-step technique that transforms wool colors into a vintage style. Finally, Shapura was introduced in 2006. This is a style which revisits traditional rug design, partly from the Peshawar region in Pakistan.

The care guidelines for Karastan rugs are similar to other rugs Rug pads are strongly recommended. It is good to frequently vacuum the rugs and professional cleaning may be advisable. Karastan Rugs are famous and considered among the finest rugs made by power-loom in the world.
